Definitely not The Net, I watched it a few months ago. Was pretty decent for a 90s thriller but doesn't match.

@EvilLootbox@lemmy.world avatar

I played through it on xbox gamepass, game was pretty great, I'll go give it 5 stars on there

Hot Pursuit 2010 was an absolute banger and Most Wanted 2012 was pretty good but since then they've been shit

Alan Wake gave an achievement if you watched a verizon ad

maybe he'll call Biden 21 times over the next four days and bang on the white house gates at night trying to get back together like he did with his ex girlfriend

but then what would Spike TV show in the place of Deadliest Warrior?

it was a SATA 2.5" drive occupying where I wanted the HDD. I assumed a PC that shipped with a NVMe drive would have one. Slot was empty. Apparently the drive is a piece of shit which I expected by being offbrand, but I thought it was a NVMe. Windows must have told it to me and I just missed it.

EvilLootbox OP ,
@EvilLootbox@lemmy.world avatar

HP shipped it with an NVMe with the HDD caddy empty and I expected it. Maybe I'm a sucker. Idk I didn't like it.

just ssd. I'm the moron and I accept it. Looking up the SSD model the only results were people complaining about how it was in their refurb systems and it failing after like 6 months. It mildly infuriated me, that's why I posted it. That was probably a mistake but I'll own it.

Awareness is good, like videos about don't buy Dell RGB i5-2XXX to play fortnite are good.

Keurig's new K-Rounds coffee pods are plastic-free and could finally make single-serve coffee-making sustainable ( www.techradar.com )

This is quite exciting in that it removes plastic waste. I see no reason why different companies can't make different shape ones to maintain their lock-in. I expect a knock-off market to pop-up, but that exists with plastic pods too. It's a step in the right direction at least.

I've seen these in hotels in Canada, but it was for use with a standard 4-cup machine

I bought the $120 Razer Wolverine V2 Xbox controller after MS shrunk the official controller for the Series S/X and it was a piece of shit. Replaced it with a $45 gamesir (Chinese brand) with hall effect triggers and sticks that I've had for two years now with no issues and no drift, a first for any xbox controller I've ever had. Razer sucks.

Are you sure you selected English in the languages list? When I first started my account I left it on the default "Undetermined" and that made it where comments set to "English" would not appear, but still counted in the comments number. Need to choose both Undetermined and English.

I was missing dozens of comments on posts sometimes and for awhile thought I was blocked by hundreds of people (understandable.. I know I post cringe) before I figured it out. I don't know if the onboarding process made this clear, I obviously missed it if it did

EvilLootbox ,
@EvilLootbox@lemmy.world avatar

Make sure it's set to English and Undefined. Cheers!

I haven't played anything blizzard in a minute but I absolutely LOVE the ubi launcher that asks for admin permissions two to eight times then makes me look up my password each time I launch one of their games (not that often) despite checking Remember Me EVERY TIME

only to be used in the dumbest way to try and get rich from Kickstarter

Followed of course by an obligatory Shark Tank appearance asking $2 million for 4% of their product where all profits go to the Zuck (the cost per customer acquisition is the entire margin and its all spent through facebook and ig ads)

Apparently that was Hawaii 5-0. My favourite CSI moment though was the huge ad for Microsoft Photosynth

The worst thing about self-serve checkouts and stores only leaving a single cash open is that it’s the world’s strongest magnet for these people. Get behind one more often than not lately.

That’s some nice reckless driving, Mr. B!

Which movies have aged like fine wine? (either in their message or cinematography)

I recently saw ‘Don’t Look Now’ (1973). Good picture, a little slow perhaps by today’s standards but worthy of any movie enjoyer’s time! So this movie was shot in Venice. Venice itself being an already beautiful spot to film even today. The way we get to look in a time capsule of Venice in the 70s makes the movie that...

I watched Cop Land (1997) for the first time a couple of months ago and thought it was pretty good and rather timely. Corrupt, racist, domestic abusing police who refuse to live in the community they work is a theme that never really gets old. I think it would likely been seen as too ‘on the nose’ if it came out now.

I have a Corsair m55 pro it looks gamer but the low DPI headshot left-side button is something I won’t live without again (I use it mostly for placing stuff in Cities Skylines). I just checked and I’ve had it since 2019, still works great

They’re not so bad if you drive one often enough. I had one for five-six years and drove it only in tiptronic, shifting while lifting off the gas. In automatic mode yeah it’s dog.

This was the gas version that needed premium fuel. I drove it daily on the 401 for awhile. Was the first car I had that absolutely required winter tires, was undrivable in snow/ice without.

I thought it was a decent enough car, got it barely used very cheap due to it’s wild depreciation which was a good thing, until it started needing serious work that made no sense to do. At the end it was worth as much as a new set of tires for it, as in nothing.

I had one of those too, was my first car. Got to 280,000km on it (had to hit the dashboard for the digital odo to appear), pretty much every feature was broken from the clock on the radio to the rear defroster and the A/C but it kept rolling. Until someone T-Boned me at like 30km/h coming out of a parking lot and absolutely OBLITERATED it. Such an unsafe vehicle

Omg it was the grassy knoll all along wasn’t it

It’s like how Netflix ended the basic no-ads plan to force people to either pay way more or pay a little less but be bombarded with ads. Serving ads is more profitable than letting people pay a little bit to skip them, apparently.

Pretty cool actually. Now there’s a giant head that’s Kafkaesque and one that’s Lynchian, two person-related terms I actually hear all the time.

Anyone remember that offline Wikipedia reader that had the whole text of English wiki on it? I always thought it was neat.

John Deere really continuing to speedrun the Most Hated Company in America challenge I see

EvilLootbox ,
@EvilLootbox@lemmy.world avatar

It’s still their responsibility to audit their suppliers. At the very least to have them pledge to not use child labour with contract penalties. I have a friend who travels at random to China to do drop-in unannounced checks for apparel companies to make sure they’re meeting labour standards and actually doing the work in-house and not sub-subcontracing.

It’s super common for low bidders to have nice show factories that give a good tour, but then just pawn the work off elsewhere when companies don’t actively check or care. I can’t imagine Deere gave a shit to allow this from their supplier, especially with no statement from them even saying they were hoodwinked or anything.

The shares are expected to begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange on March 21, 2024, under the ticker symbol “RDDT.” The offering is expected to close on March 25, 2024, subject to customary closing conditions.

I might have to watch some CNBC tomorrow could be good for some laughs. Hope it tanks
