As a hardcore Linux fan, the only way I see game devs publishing native Linux ports is when when it has a >30% market share.
But I'm pretty sure the publishers will still come up with excuses like "The Linux platform is uncontrollable; there is no way to verify the platform integrity because everyone has root"
Someone said it was explicitly written with Windows in mind, so the Linux port will probably take some time. Converting all the Win API calls will take some time.
I have managed to convince IT that Linux is essential for my line of work.
My work goes smoothly while I watch my Windows colleagues raise the most absurd tickets for their problems.
"Yeah, it's a known issue. This needs access to Microsoft servers but our firewall won't allow it. You need to connect to a hotspot to resolve this."
"You need to install a package for LaTeX for a different font? Better raise an RFC and get it approved by your supervisor"
"md5sum? Never heard of it. Please justify the business requirement for this tool"
Fun fact, Euro Truck Simulator 2 has mods which adds billboards with regional ads. Players are voluntarily downloading mods which adds ads for more emersion. The default ads were not enough.
It helps that the dev, SCS Software, is not a dickhead and has supported the game for more than a decade with good DLCs with virtually no problems.
This is BS by the ISP. My ISP advertises they give 140 Mbps, I get 140 and sometimes 150 Mbps. Maybe during peak hours I may get slightly less, like 130. But it's not supposed to be drastically low, like 80-90.
However, the user must also consider that some issues are beyond the ISP's control, like how loaded the destination server is.

Most companies I’ve worked at where employees had a Microsoft work computers. They were under heavy control, even with admin privileges. To add to your comment, there is already a native linux client for ZScalar which my workplace uses. We also use CrowdStrike for EDR, which is also Linux compatible.
other than denying them root access, which might make it hard for them to use the system
If the user is even slightly knowledgeable, they can’t all protection systems using sudo. That’s a big no-no if you want top-notch security. Source - I have broken my corporate’s Linux-specific protection mechanisms.
I meant that if a company wants to maintain the highest levels of security, the user should never be given access to sudo. If a certain workflow requires sudo, the workflow needs to be changed, or it needs to be done in a sanitized environment, or the user needs to be highly trusted.
Don’t you know? Some calculations can only be done locally. They are too complicated to be performed over the cloud. It needs to be done on your i3/4GB RAM PC.
Electron: I am in this comment and I do not like it.
Jokes aside, MS Office now auto-generates clipart and various other assets via GenAI which obviously is via cloud. They can do feature parity if they want to. But often with MS products, their products use so much legacy libraries, it’s a huge pain for the devs to find their corresponding web-libraries.
I’m pretty sure Office still uses a random API which uses ie6.
