My company is using some tool to generate those kinds of false scam emails every few weeks, so I created a rule in Outlook that if the header contains the word "gophish", it put a label "lol phishing" on it, so I know to just delete them...

Magister ,
@Magister@lemmy.world avatar

haha same for me, the header contains the word "gophish", easy to filter it

In France you had to write your cover letter by hand, because they study your writing, the shape of letters, the height of your b and d, the loop, etc. They also with your DOB check some numerology and astrology too. You must include your picture too, it's the first filter they apply, your face.

It was the same for I guess Google, 15 years ago I'd have apply for a job there, now? no. Right now I'd not apply to everything Musk, Meta, Google, MS, IBM, HP, etc. It does not work. small company, max 100 people, are better.

For me it was a video of a big fat Hawaiian guy in a pool or something, I saw it for years, hundreds of time, in my "recommended feed". I now know this is a singer, Israel, but I never ever clicked on the thumbnail, and it always came in my feed, I never knew why, after a few years it disappeared I guess the algorithm has a limit of 2000 print per user or something? At one time it said "ok, this user will not watch it, let's bother someone else for middle-aged healthy ad" ?

No, but you could easily imagine a scenario where that happens, right? Well, if your imagination became a reality, you’d need the only...

MX, always based on latest Debian, is using sysVinit, but you can also boot with systemd if you want, it supports both. MX is pretty popular, simple, fast, Xfce by default, and very up to date on everything. I’m using it for 6 years now, on laptop, PC. Also maybe it’s me, but no flatpak, no snap, etc, not needed, for instance latest FF is a standard .deb

From what the guy saw, it looks like what I saw in some campground in Myrtle Beach, SC. Full of quite obese men, strangely a lot of veterans/fire fighters, wearing family/faith/gun/constitution t-shirt, with their 100k trucks and 100k fifthwheel (with obligatory NRA member sticker on it), with 12ft trump flags on their pole, talking loudly, etc. competing each other on the bigger RV, places they went to, etc.

But they talk to us, the plebs with pop-up campers, they are often quite nice, just don’t talk politics/abortion/religion with them :)

But… if you have an android phone and others people are using iPhones, you can still send them SMS and they can answer with SMS, no?

Should I use QEMU/virt-manager or Virtualbox for a Windows virtualized instance?

I use Arch Linux, and some apps require me to use Windows. I have tried to get Wine working, but it’s just too much of a hassle. If the only goal of my virtualization setup is to run something like Adobe apps (I’m not doing any gaming on it), will Virtualbox or virt-manager be the quick and easy choice for me? I have tried...

Magister ,
@Magister@lemmy.world avatar

I used VMware or vbox for 10+ years, or HyperV in Windows.

Lastly in Linux I needed a windows XP install for an old program, I tried QEMU and after booting the install iso, I just created a small script to launch my installed image with some parameters I needed for serial port, and that’s it.

I like QEMU, and will try to use it for any VM now.
