It can directly affect how many people will buy the game in the future on PC. Might not be a huge number, and maybe it look like kids throwing a tantrum, but as long as it takes out any ammount of money from MS pocket Im all for it.

Edit: nevermind, its positive reviews, I did not pay attention.

Sure, edited it.

Guys! This is it! The announcement of the announcement just dropped!

My aunts FB comments. My whole life I thought she was a lovely sweet lady, who was always super nice to me... Then I saw some years later she told somone else in the comment section should kill himself. Simple reason: the other person had different political views. It turns out she is a hardcore racist with very fascist world view and she is super proud of it.

I am not on FB for a very long time and I didn't talk to her for 10+ years but I think it is for the best.

How many "AI in your pocket" products must fail before the AI tech bros get into the next big thing?

Edit: I get it, its a joke product, maybe next time I should read it more carefully.

I use wired in-ear headphones while cycling for convenience of not needing to charge so they are always ready to go when I go for a ride. Also I wear my phone in the back pocket of my jersey, so its an extra string holding my device in case it would fall out (never happened, but just in case).
I use some half-decent BT headphones for media consumption when home.

Just ordered a pair of wired in-ear headphone from their website for like 15 USD with free worldwide shipping and they sound amazing.

While they have products in the thousands, most their headphones cost under 100 AFAIK

Of course regardless the phone will be 100% overpriced.

I quit reddit when the API-calipse happened, while had a 1 year old. These helped me to use my newly found free time in short bursts, while still having a sense of accomplishment and progress:

  • Handheld game console with suspend function to be able to put any game on pause with a press of a button (switch, steam deck)
  • Duolingo
  • Mastodon/Pixelfed
  • Audiobooks

Last Epoch - on a gen 1 SD it runs great. Set for 40 fps, medium details, about 2 hours of battery life. Levelling my first character, a Falconer. It’s an offline char for now because of the server issues, but it’s fine, since I’m not planning multiplayer anytime soon, first I want to enjoy the story and learn all the mechanics without distractions.

The game is really good, and looks beautiful. Maybe the only negative is the default controller layout is not perfect, but nothing critical. With a little fine tuning it works like a charm.

Cant comment on online mode so far, but suspend on offline mode works perfectly. I had the game running for 3 days like that and only quit when there was a new patch released :)

Mapped the back button for the minimap, show/hide loot, inventory and one for instant sell (Shift + left click).

Changed the right touch pad as mouse + left click for menus.

Set the left touchpad to work as a D-pad so I have 4 additional buttons there. So far left-right is the map zoom and up is the loot filter, down is the skills menu, but I’m thinking of making it into a virtual menu to include more stuff.

A house, which runs on green energy with a big garden growing my own veggies and fruits. Mainly to save a shit tons of money in the long term, and because I love being close to nature, while still maintaining my modern life (internet, gadgets, modern living)

Organic maps

https://organicmaps.app/

It’s not overly complicated, doesn’t eat up data, has offline mode and works well for both driving and cycling. Oh and it’s FOSS, community driven, no data collecting.

I am not a power user of OM, but did not have any issues with routing so far. …but again I did not test it for many scenarios while cycling as I mainly stick to my usual routes.

Macaroni_ninja ,

They should go one step further and ban the programming language as well the emulator was created in. That will show them!

Please someone tell me a scenario, where I would use the eyewear-free 3D features in everyday life? Not just a magic trick, but an actual practical use.

Consoles are more and more like PCs, with many multimedia, productivity and utilility apps and even web browsing, so the Steam Deck IMO perfectly fits the discussion.

Out of the box it has a strict console-like UI and limited functionality for everything else other than gaming. You need to take special steps to use it as a PC (reboot in desktop mode, attach peripherals, etc)

Macaroni_ninja ,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

There is no strict definition of what a console is. Just because the linux OS is not restricted and the hardware can be used as a pc with extra steps are we excluding the SD from the console topic?

Corporate job, terrible decisions, change of management, extra work for most people for the same money. Everyone is outraged and not happy.

So management organizes a company-wide zoom meeting to introduce new roadmap, changes, new management teams, etc.

HR is running an anonymous question board throughout the meeting, where everyone can send in questions and feedback through a web application link/QR code (Slido) for the Q&A section at the end.

Some questions are still praising management, “looking forward to working with xyz”, “great opportunity”, fucking toxic positivity like what you can see these days on LinkedIn. So of course management only answers/discussing these pretentious shitty questions and not dealing with more serious stuff.

So well done idiots, nobody knows who the ass kissers are, so it was pointless.

Macaroni_ninja ,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

Yes, this is the first thing everyone thought, but also these questions were ranked by likes through the same system so unless HR hacked the Slido page to put on extra likes might not be the case.

Since I own a smart watch my ringer is set to silent 99.99% of the time. A tiny buzz on my wrist is all I need, also no notifications for any type of social media to minimise screen time.

My in-laws on the other hand are both max volume ringtones with vocal-kind of people. It frightens me every time I’m driving with my father-in-law and his phone starts blasting the theme song from the series Outlander on max volume.

The right one as mouse, in RPGs, mostly isometric ones without gamepad support. Currently Pillars of Eternity 2. Works surprisingly well.

Also the left one I started using for virtual menus in games where I need to use lots of quickslots and/or abilities. The customisability is awesome, you can even add little icons to show what each menu item represents.

These are pretty much always installed on my Deck:

Dead Cells

Dragons Dogma

Binding of Isaac

Children of Morta

These I finished recently on SD in one form or other:

Dishonored

The Stick of truth

…but there are plenty

Macaroni_ninja ,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

Awesome. Smooth 60 fps on mid-high settings and battery life was around 3 hours.

Also loading times were like 2-3 sec so it’s one of the best titles for the Deck I experienced so far.

Macaroni_ninja ,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

Oblivion Override - runs like a dream. Since it’s basically Dead Cells but with robots and more boss fights it was a no brainer for me. The controls are smooth and while the fights can be real chaotic I enjoy it a lot so far

Macaroni_ninja ,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

I recently installed it and just had to run it in desktop mode first to skip the activation bit and it works with all DLCs enabled.

Macaroni_ninja ,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

Same here. DC is probably my favourite indie game since Terraria. Hundreds of hours of fun so far… …and still don’t have the final boss cell :(

Macaroni_ninja ,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

Since it’s a non-competitive offline game cheating could be part of the fun, so no complaints here :)

I collect decks of cards from different countries/places. Usually if someone from my family/friend circle travels just buys me one at the airport of that country, but I also have a few special ones, like the Norwegian Ice Hotel, or a spicy sexy one from Greece.

It started randomly, I realized that I have 3-4 decks from random places and that was it, I became a collector.

Best use of android tablet

I’m getting an android tablet soon (will be a present and a little birdie told it to me). Nothing fancy, just some mid-range 10 inch one with basic features. I’m planning to mainly use it for comic books, but while I’m at it might as well watch movies on it....
