I've regularly seen people advocating for nuclear strikes against chinese metropolises because "If the Chinese were against their government they would have already rebelled, so they are complicit in everything their leaders do" and the articles that go like "China Has Found A Cure To Cancer; But At what cost?" (slightly exaggerated but probably something we would see if a cure to cancer really was invented in China)
Today in a Privacy community a post about YouTube. No word about privacy but all about which software or settings are needed to watch videos and the money needed to host videos. It made me wonder whether some of you can lead a meaningful life without YouTube. Or will a cold turkey bring the worst out of you ?
I only go on YouTube about once a month and I use it exclusively with either Newpipe or heavily modified on my PC. I mostly use it to watch trailers of games I am interested in, so I think that I would not be really affected.
I really liked “Dorohedoro” and “Flip Flappers”. For a more surreal anime movie I think “Paprika” could be a starting point, I don’t remember much knowledge about Japanese culture or other anime being needed to enjoy it.
It is even more funny if the reading isn't in your native language. I can write in English at a C1-C2 level but I am at the B level when speaking as I have no clue how to pronounce most of my regular vocabulary that I use when writing.
We learned some general pronunciation rules but that was just for the vocabulary we had to learn for the lessons. The problem is that there are so many exceptions to the rules of pronunciation in English that you have to guess with like every third word if you didn't hear it before somehow. I mean, look at this
