Yeah but isn't that a bit nonsequitur to the conversation about pirates being against ableism? You can be tolerant even if you don't have skin in the game, and vice versa, and the stances aren't particularly humourous to me if that is in fact the joke "haha these 1600s pirates have complex political belief systems."

EDIT: To be clear I'm not saying he's wrong, but it's a very strange use of language to describe geopolitical events. Not to downplay the genocide, but there is a fucking lot going on in the world and Apocalypse doesn't quite describe the Fall of Israel, imo.

It's an incorrectly framed question, I think. China doesn't have real, by definition, socialism. If they did then maybe the "US establishment" would come out against it. They're definitely against the Chinese brand of authoritarian socialism, though, but in that example the term socialism and China mean the same thing so you can't be wary of the thing because it's the thing, thats circular logic.

Wouldn't a lower number of billionaires to a higher amount of profits be more favorable to everyone except billionaires? So that particular example actually favors the system in the USA, oddly.

Of course, GDP only accounts for excess goods and services sold to other nations, which for the USA includes financial services like trading platforms and exchanges, heavily skewing their actual production capacity.

I was so confused about what you meant by eating on the Nebuchadnezzar until I connected the dots that this was probably the name of their ship.

My mind had assumed the possibility that their belowground refuge somehow contained the tomb of Nebuchadnezzar and that they would eat breakfast off of it, but no that would be silly.

The other day I got banned from A Boring [email protected] for providing verifiable historical context to the bombing of the MOVE cult. Not for taking a stance on either side of the issue, but just for fighting misinformation in the comments. I had like a 40 to 13 upvote ratio on a comment as long as a page, but the mod wants to marginalize and radicalize people so they deleted everything I posted in the thread.

Ironically, quite a boring dystopia indeed.

Then by your argument, the bible contains no English words because it was written in hebrew and therefore any quotes from the bible not made directly in hebrew are false. Sodomy is directly the same in meaning as the Sin of Sodom as it has evolved from exactly that phrase and has kept it's meaning consistently.

TBF he was kind of right, if you look at the industry of wall art these days then 98% of whats on people's walls is printed imagery and copies. He's was one of those Tech Company CEO wannabes with a PhD in Economics who "made the move from private to political career", but he is really shitting the bed if he thinks things like this will make us want to vote Blue. Well, even if we say that, the PAC supplies campaign funds to candidates directly. I doubt they even store the answers on their little poll, it just leads directly into a donation portal.

PACs are not nation state entities, they're pipelines for corporations to fund election campaigns. They're a stain on the earth as a whole, that this PAC wants favorable outcomes doesn't change that.
