I don't like them neither but have never found them so bad they deserve a downvote.

When my cat is laid down, and I call him, his ear move on my direction for a second and them come back. Consecutive calls don't even gain an ear movement.

Normal people using AI: look how stupid this shit is!!

Terence Tao using AI: As an experiment, I asked to write code to compute, for each 𝑛, the length 𝑀(𝑛) of the longest subsequence of (1,\dots,n) on which the Euler totient function ϕ is non-decreasing. For instance, 𝑀(6)=5, because ϕ is non-decreasing on 1,2,3,4,5 (or 1,2,3,4,6) but not 1,2,3,4,5,6. Interestingly, it was able to produce an extremely clever routine to compute the totient function (that I had to stare at for a few minutes to see why it actually worked), but the code to compute (M(n)) was slightly off: it only considered subsequences of consecutive integers, rather than arbitrary subsequences. Nevertheless it was close enough that I was able to manually produce the code I wanted using the initial GPT-produced code as a starting point, probably saving me about half an hour of work. (and I now have the first 10,000 values of (M)). The results were good enough that I would likely turn to GPT again to provide initial code for similar calculations in the future. https://chat.openai.com/share/a022e1d6-dddc-4817-8bbd-944a3e742d9f

Dosen't matters what you choose, given that for sisyphus to reach his destination first he have to reach half, then half of it, then half again and again making movement impossible.

Im an actuarie in an insurance company, and I share the table with the lawyers, everytime they ask me for help on something excel/math related I joke with them about how that's the kind of thing that give flavor to life, seeing lawyers that tough math was useless and never had to used it, came to the realization that mathematics are everywhere and they can't scape of it.

By "directly to destination" did you mean the gigantic parking lot necessary to accommodate every car? You are going to walk anyway, the different is that you're walking in the most horrible hostile car centric space instead of one made for humans.

Public transit that share lines with cars are always going to be worst that cars, but if you add exclusive lanes for Public transit they go smooth as hell. This is why metros are usually the best option on cities with good metro infrastructure.

How much will congestion tolls really help when personal cars are such a low percentage?

Any estimate in how much is this percentage of personal cars?

Guess the first one was even worse than this one at this stage of development, but nobody knew about the game yet. I'm still waiting for the finished product (as I did with the first one), I don't want to spoil me.

Second, don't you guys lock a bike to anything bolted down? For example a "very bland outdoor seating area over on the side of the building" or the traditional lamppost. If it's not used, have at.

I use an e-bike to move around, if I don't lock it, or locked it to a "lamppost" or anything not a bike rack and got stolen the insurance is void. So yes, Im picky about where I lock my bike and don't do business where I can't lock it properly.

According to software engineer and blogger, Paul Biggar, however, one key detail on the methods employed by the Lavender system that is often overlooked is the involvement of the messaging platform, WhatsApp. A major determining factor of the system’s identification is simply if an individual is in a WhatsApp group containing...

Philosophy Tube have a great video about Effective Altruism. It was some time ago that I watched, but iirc, EA is just "let us do unregulated capitalism at our own benefit, because in the future trillions and trillions of humans are going to benefit from it. Don't mind the planet being destroyed now, and the billions of humans suffering now, everything would be cool in future. Trust me bro."
