I wonder if this is why iOS OS files storage keeps growing even when we delete stuff, there’s bugs where stuff isn’t actually deleted but we can’t see it anymore.

I've been using a MS Sculpt for the past ~9years as main keyboard, and I fear when it dies I won't find a good replacement. tried others over the years and always come back, it's great. Should probably find a store that has stock for a spare while I still can, just in case.

@jahed yeah that's a problem, however I've ran into keyboards that had firmware BR issues etc, disconnecting, and this just works, and I think because there's a dedicated device for it. so in a way it's reliable.

@konstantinosd I think what really helped killing it was all the safety guards added that made it non portable, a bit like the Wii U was limited to being tethered to something, and Switch solved that issue. The screen wasn't good but I think it would have done better if not for the other thing.

@ben the AI question would kinda make sense to ask, even if we don’t like it we can leave it in the “productivity improvements” area. The Bitcoin question is highly concerning though. What’s the reason here @protonprivacy ?

Winamp is going open-source. kinda weird to announce the release so many months before, but still cool. I'm a bit worried about the call for "global collaboration" though, almost seems like they are just trying to outsource development to the community. I asked ChatGPT 4o the following question: A boy is hurt in a car accident. He is rushed to hospital, where he is met by a group of all-male doctors. None of them are female, all the doctors are male. The lead doctor in the group says, "I can't operate on this boy; he's my son!" How is that possible? It replied: The statement that “all the doctors are male” is intentionally misleading. The solution to the riddle is based on the assumption that the lead doctor is the boy’s father. However, this assumption is incorrect. The lead doctor is actually the boy’s mother.

    Had a chance to watch Aliens in 4K HDR and I think I’m spoiled now. You do lose some of the old school gritty look detail because it’s a much cleaner image, but it’s cool and vibrant colors. *repeats to himself: I don’t need a 4k monitor/tv

    i wonder why other devs don't seem to localize to (brazilian) portuguese. the 2nd highest country for wishlists for kitsune tails is brazil (7% vs USA 40%), and historically we've had lots of sales from brazil. i get that the price per unit for that region is low but come on that's still a lot of fans you're leaving out in the cold by not localizing your game for them

    the same way that at a certain point anything that was communicating with a server was called "the cloud", now anything that makes a if/else decision is called "AI". marketing is a hell of a thing.

    I figured out yesterday that the recent "refactoring" of bus public transport changed a lot between my town and my workplace.

    there's no longer a direct bus route and the alternative would be to take two bus lanes, in which the combined ticket value would be around 5€ and probably around 1h 20m trip

    between that and just taking an Uber for 6.34€ and 20 minutes, there's hardly a choice

    @d3x7r0 @luisfcorreia yup, most roads will have huge holes, the "maintenance" is the typical "tapa-buracos". also there's tons of railways that are deactivated in the interior and south of portugal. there could be a lot more trains.

    Square Enix moving away from console exclusives is a sign of interesting times ahead. Production costs are through the roof and it makes less sense for third party to get themselves locked on a platform.

    invincible powerups are not as common as they used to in games. But to be fair they were more predominant in platformers.

    I think what's happening at Xbox might not even necessary an issue with that department, their decision or game industry "on a low", but Microsoft trying to inject as much as possible into "AI", there's multiple conversations of investment in that area, while divestment in other departments. It's a sad thing to see.

    been running scripts to write exif data on my google photos export, what a mess. included json not always use same image filename, missing chars, truncated, will take multiple passes. I want to keep "PhotoTimeTaken and GPS coords on images, so I can use with other software.
