    Caught some morning shots of a couple Turkey Vultures in the early sunlight.

    A large dark brown bird perches on a bare branch amid the new green leaves of the tree. Sunlight filters through the leaves, shining light and casting shadows on the bald red head with a white tipped beak, and the grey talons that grip the branch. It's dark black eye glints in the morning sun.

    Caught an interesting encounter - a blue jay attacked a squirrel. I've heard jays are territorial but never witnessed it first hand.

    The sun wasn't out last weekend but the birds were! Including this adorable baby Pied-billed Grebe. It was peeping around on the water for a so long we thought something happened to the parent, but they eventually showed up.

    Vacation day birding with warblers, tanagers, and more spring migrators was a fun escape into nature with my husband. I love how the peek of cloudy sky behind this Indigo Bunting creates a full moon effect.
