This behavior is disqualifying for a Supreme Court justice. Alito is not an impartial arbiter of the law, especially when Donald Trump is involved. His brazen actions underscore the urgent need for increased congressional oversight of the court as well as structural reforms to restore its legitimacy: https://act.indivisible.org/survey/majority_over_maga_signup?source=mastodon&medium=directpost
I want to be more active in different discussions on here but don't want to dump irrelevant stuff onto everyone or make additional accounts. I wish we could have different personas or sub-profiles, so I could read a single TL but post to different feeds that could be subscribed separately.
@tess if there were some way (such as subprofiles, and not hash tags) to categorize my posts so people could filter more easily, I'd use it for sure though.
@aeva@tess this is something where the forum structure would work better at keeping context. Lemmy/kbin anyone? (I know there's some decent degree of interoperability with Mastodon, but they don't seem to see as much usage.)
"I've done live fact-checking during breaking news events for years. But the sheer volume of viral misinformation today regarding Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's helicopter crash posted by fake osint accounts and blue tick grifters for engagement (on Twitter/X) has been something to behold," says Shayan Sardarizadeh, a journalist at BBC Verify.
I'm at this stupid stage of the project when I can't randomly prototype anymore kuz I have specific plans, but I don't have a solid foundation to work with yet, so I have to invent it on the way, and it's hard.
Still, I'm making progress. Here's some grass spreading mechanic :)
Software developer: "This task will take at least three months."
PM: "If one engineer needs three months, then twelve engineers should need only one week. I'll request additional staff. We will deliver the project on time."
@nixCraft MS once had great engineers/developers. So good that some system tools haven't fundamentally changed for more than 2 decades. Too bad they replaced them with marketing engineers
Not lost on me that for some of these proposals and ideas I keep seeing pop up for C, everyone's just kind of trying to figure out the magic set of syntax they can write that will let them escape the consequences of the system.
Versus C++, where they just Add Something To Do It.
@JoshGrams@lritter the reply from @\[email protected] has the privacy setting set to "followers only", and every reply thereafter as well, so no one but the mentioned people (or people who in fact follow those people) can see those posts
this type of thing is probably going to keep being a source of confusion, I honestly don't have a good solution there
@MrLovenstein 👁️👄👁️ lmao millennials hate being called boomers but y'all never beating the allegations the way it turns into cheug central when someone gets pressed over basic slang
75% of zoomer/gen alpha slang is just misappropriated AAVE just like how a bad amount of millennial speak is surfer coded!!! 😂 You literally pick it up the way you do words from any other culture
It's sus as hell whenever someone's like, I JUST CAN'T with it and has a full blown menty b. Like no cap? Ok, thanks for sharing that your friend group's as diverse as a paint swatch, enjoy your echo chamber much???
I've been on Fedi for less than a year and I've learned a million new tech terms! I was trying to debug some activitypub thing and someone asked me whats my stack and I was like UHHHHHHH, 34C??? 🤪 Which was obvs the wrong answer judging from their response, and now I know!
If I, a certified dummy, can figure out that asking about my software stack isn't a question about my tits, you should be able to put together that GYATT MEANS BUTT! Context clues are your friend!!!
Idk, just gives me such ick the way some of y'all post your reading comprehension Ls on main, that's some anti-intellectualism shit 💀
