I've had these, and they are actually pretty good. But you will burn your tounge. Badly.

Maybe we need a law to know which laws to follow.

DosDude ,
@DosDude@retrolemmy.com avatar

Hahahaha! Oh man! You're cracking me up every time!

DosDude ,
@DosDude@retrolemmy.com avatar

Most economies did. But it can't be sustainable, because like in the rest of the world the wallets are all being drained because of basic expenses like food and housing. Every company, and shareholder, only wants the number to go up. But inflation will kick their source of income in the butt eventually when people can only afford their most basic needs, if even that.

DosDude ,
@DosDude@retrolemmy.com avatar

I agree. But these days having an IP prints money. Especially an IP as popular as minecraft, fallout, elder scrolls, call of duty, warcraft, Diablo and doom.

DosDude ,
@DosDude@retrolemmy.com avatar

But then you miss out on the residuals from the already released stuff

DosDude ,
@DosDude@retrolemmy.com avatar

I wouldn't call Halo and Destiny competing. They are vastly different. The only thing they have in common is that they're both FPSes.

Not sure. But he does have a down arrow imprint on his forehead.

Really? How displaced is your view if you consider the USA easy mode?

Also, fuck Mexico. Apparently.

DosDude ,
@DosDude@retrolemmy.com avatar

Duke nukem forever didn't tarnish the older games IMO. Because the games barely have any story to begin with, they are mostly ranked for their gameplay, which is still awesome to this day. At least for 2 and 3d.

Duke1 is nothing too special. But Duke1 wasn't even too special at time of release.

Fury road was amazing. I hope furiosa is good, but I'm not too optimistic. But I wasn't optimistic about fury road either, until I saw it.

How the hell is Nvidia worth more?

Why is this kind of market cap even possible?

This makes no sense on all fronts...

The first account was banned in retrospect after the first 3 seemingly didn’t care about community rules. Retrolemmy will not be the instance to house people who don’t adhere to the community rules. If you decide to turn a new leaf I am prepared to unban your first account.

DosDude ,
@DosDude@retrolemmy.com avatar

Ban evasion for one. Creating 6 accounts is not the way. If a post doesn’t go the way you hope just move on. It’s not the end of the world, nor is it a reason to create half a dozen other accounts just to repost it again and/or complain about your ban.

If you do not like this, find an instance more accepting of your behavior. But Retrolemmy is not the place for you.

Is there a way to remove having to enter my password for everything?

Wake computer from Screensaver? Password.
Install something? Password.
Updates (biggest one. Updates should in my opinion just work without, because being up to date is important for security reasons)? Password.

I understand sudo needs a password,but all the other stuff I just want off. The frequency is rediculous. I don’t ever leave my house with my computer, and I don’t want to enter a password for my wife everytime she wants to use it.

DosDude ,
@DosDude@retrolemmy.com avatar

I’ve tried unattended-upgrades once. And I couldn’t get it to work back then. It might be more user friendly now. Or it could just be me.

DosDude ,
@DosDude@retrolemmy.com avatar

Other downside is that they are fucking ugly. But really comfortable. I made it a point to get the ugliest one I can find. If I’m going to have ugly ass things like that, I better get the ugliest.

I wear them in the house every day.

Are you doubting my jibbit game? I’ve got spider-man, iron-man, mjolnir, wolverine, an astronaut, and Luigi.

Don’t doubt my game.

They are really comfy. And they obviously breathe, but aren’t cold at all, so I haven’t been wearing my house slippers anymore, since they make my feet sweat.

The first thing I do when I get home is put them on. Haven’t had footwear as comfortable as these.

I usually leave the heel latch up, so they are more like slippers, easy to slip in and out.

DosDude ,
@DosDude@retrolemmy.com avatar

They just stay on. A friend of mine bought jibbits on aliexpress, thinking it was only 5 or 10. It was 50, and dirt cheap. Just a random selection, and I could have how many I wanted.

For the price of 1 “official” one.

I don’t click piped links myself, but some people find them useful.

As for tldr bot, it’s useful insofar it gets an idea across for wether I want to read the article, but leaves out a lot of information, often vital to the story, and leaves in fluff.

They aren’t perfect, but useful for some.

Unfortunately a lot of shareware is not compatible with xp, because it’s based on NT architecture. Unlike 9x which is based on DOS, and can run most if not all the shareware of the 90s.

Also XP was released in 2001, so not the best choice for 90s gaming. The lack of or limited compatibility, with 9x and DOS was an actual downside and reason not to upgrade for older hardware back in the day.

DosDude ,
@DosDude@retrolemmy.com avatar

She hasn’t had the need to be relevant for a while now because she’s still getting those residuals from a show she did a long time ago. You might have heard from it. It’s called friends. It was the biggest sitcom in the 90s/early 00s.

It’s illegal to spy on your workers through a camera in most EU countries. Why should GPS tracking be legal?

DosDude ,
@DosDude@retrolemmy.com avatar

I agree. But the post I replied to literally describes a way for the employer to spy.

Rather than the employer spying, how about we keep the timer local on the vehicle. You don’t even need GPS for that either. Vehicle on, timer starts. Beeping after set amount of time. Beeping gets louder for every 10/15 minutes ignored. Insert an alucap condensator and resistor to not reset the timer after a certain amount of time.

But I have no experience with truckers or their vehicles. So I might as well just be talking out of my ass.

DosDude ,
@DosDude@retrolemmy.com avatar

It’s illegal, at least in my country, to use your camera to keep an eye on your employees. You can only view it in case of illegal activities, for example something being stolen, etc. You also cannot save the footage for more than a certain amount of time, unless it needs to be used for an investigation of said illegal activities. I think it was 2 weeks, but I’m not sure.

Using the camera to check up if your employees are working is illegal.

Yeah, it’s bleeding over to lemmy too when you browse by new.

DosDude ,
@DosDude@retrolemmy.com avatar

Well, most are run by 1 person or a small team. None have profits. Some have donation pages, and that’s it. So they are exempt by definition.

I also want to give a shout out to the YouTube channel “Borderline OCD” as someone who works in small electronics, he’s one of the few I don’t cringe at when he’s soldering. So if you want a good example for soldering, he should be high on anyone’s list.

If you go web browsing and text editing just get a 2nd hand one. Most laptops can do that. I would just replace the HD with an SSD if it doesn’t have one.

I have an old hp laptop of 12+ years. But hp is a bitch to replace the HDD. So that was an adventure.

DosDude ,
@DosDude@retrolemmy.com avatar

No problem. Good to know that information

DosDude ,
@DosDude@retrolemmy.com avatar

I agree. Though off-brand batteries can be a good replacement, if you find a reputable brand. I’ve replaced my battery with a bigger capacity off-brand battery, and it’s been working like a charm for 4 years now.

This all pretty much a bad idea. The garden is the best, but sticking pc cases as shelving? That’s asking for falling “shelves”

The barbecue is the worst offender. With the plastic and paint this is asking for an extra dose of cancer in your food. Cancer smoked meat… yum…

DosDude ,
@DosDude@retrolemmy.com avatar

This is a very shortsighted stance on this. It’s not a technicality. H1Z1 was released almost 2 years earlier.

It was, and will always be the first stand alone battle royale game.

You also underestimate the popularity of H1Z1 back in the day. The creator of PUBG was even a consultant there, before developing PUBG.
