There are a handful of different eligibility requirements that developers must meet to be able to distribute apps via their website:

  • Be enrolled in the Apple Developer Program as an organization incorporated, domiciled, and or registered in the EU (or have a subsidiary legal entity incorporated, domiciled, and or registered in the EU that’s listed in App Store Connect). The location associated with your legal entity is listed in your Apple Developer account.
  • Be a member of good standing in the Apple Developer Program for two continuous years or more, and have an app that had more than one million first annual installs on iOS in the EU in the prior calendar year.
  • Agree to, among other things,
    • Only offer apps from your developer account.
    • Be responsive to communications from Apple regarding your apps distributed through Web Distribution, particularly regarding any fraudulent, malicious, or illegal behavior, or anything else that Apple believes impacts the safety, security, or privacy of users.
    • Publish transparent data collection policies and offer users control over how their data is collected and used.
    • Follow applicable laws of the jurisdictions where you operate (for example, the Digital Services Act, the General Data Protection Regulation, and consumer protection laws).
    • Be responsible for handling governmental and other requests to take down listings of apps.

Euros* which are worth more than dollars. That said, such a dev probably wouldn't meet the other requirements to distribute anyway, so they'll probably use the existing unofficial sideloading.

As a TreeStyleTab user, I love hide sidebar headers and auto-hide tabs

if you want to upgrade the OS, you have to pay once again, but this doesn't work if your hardware model stops being supported. Why pay for something with a limited life expectancy?

true, but you can backup stuff (i.e. download everything) from icloud, which is where they store most of the valuable stuff. integration is what makes things powerful

I find it ridiculous they use fancy names to name even their support staff instead of just calling it support staff. Why make things complicated?

IPAs are the iOS equivalent of APKs. As long as you don't sideload over 3 apps (which is actually 2 if you want to avoid having to connect your device to your computer every week, and even less if you have apps that do things other than being apps), you can sideload IPAs.

Google made GitHub take down all the downloads but not the repositories themselves.

Perhaps that was the historical perspective, but that doesn't include Jesus definitely performing miracles either. In the perspective where he does do miracles, a.k.a. the Bible, at least according to Christianity.com (which sources itself inline to the bible) a ton of priests and people were angered by Jesus's claim of being the messiah and son of God. They then invented a bunch of insurrection charges and took to the local governor, who initially refused but went through when they basically threatened to get him fired by questioning his loyalty.

So, I guess I stand corrected that it was not the Romans but the existing religion.

But I am, especially given the level of network control they have. I don't think a very large portion of Bitcoin people would be smart enough to get a VPN.

Also, claiming a ton of Bitcoin miners are Chinese is the assumption, not saying that it's heavily unlikely. See Russell's Teapot.
