I think people are missing the bigger question here:
Would literally any other defendant facing 34 felony counts, unlimited resources, and the ability to flee the jurisdiction at will even be given the opportunity to travel to Florida and/or Minnesota at all? I seriously doubt it.
But hey, it's OK guys. Just keep letting him do whatever the hell he wants to do with no consequences whatsoever, and then wonder why he keeps doing it. The fact that judge after judge after judge refuses to take action against him or, worse, explicitly allow his behavior to continue has absolutely no bearing on him continuing to take a steaming shit all over the judicial system. Really. I swear.
In this case because he can most likely not hide anywhere as he is so famous.
He'd still have multiple options:
Fly to one of the many countries he has property in, and drag out the extradition process. Look how many years it's taking to get Julian Assange. Imagine how long Trump can drag it out.
Fly to one of his properties in a country without extradition, if he has any.
Take an offer from one of the many countries out there willing to host him in exchange for what useful information he has.
Nah. Look at Snowden. Putin basically threw him into some small town, told him to learn russian and have a nice day while a whole bunch of FSB agents walk around town making sure he stays put.
He'll do the same to Trump, especially once he coughs up anything Putin considers useful. And once that's done and Trump becomes more of a problem than he's worth, he'll suddenly develop the same problems with gravity that a lot of Russian agents tend to have at the end of their careers.
Well, are we all really surprised by this? We knew he was gonna lie about wanting to go. He's never attended any of his kid's graduations or milestones. Such a pathetic waste of a human.

I don't know which "private school in Florida" Barron attends, or precisely what "midmorning" is in this context, but I know that graduation ceremonies can easily go on all day long. If Trump fails to appear at Barron's graduation, he is clearly and willfully abusing the generosity of the court, and should expect no such further generosity.
Hell, even if he does appear at the graduation, the fact that he was relieved of having to appear in court in New York has made it so that he can appear at this fundraiser in Minnesota.
Trump is on trial in Manhattan on 34 felony charges, including falsifying business records, related to claims he orchestrated the payment of hush money to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
Trump had complained on his Truth Social website that he could be forced to miss the graduation of his "wonderful son" Barron, who attends a private school in Florida, due to the hush money case.
The Republican Party of Minnesota's Lincoln Reagan Dinner, which Trump is hosting along with House Majority Whip Rep. Tom Emmer, is taking place on the same day at St. Paul's RiverCentre.
"Minnesota voters have repeatedly rejected Donald Trump and his efforts to ban abortion, take away their health insurance, and attack our democracy," he said in a statement.
"I think that the Biden campaign is deliberately playing a faux game by talking about [how] they're going to expand the map in Florida and North Carolina," he told NBC News on Saturday
On Monday Judge Merchan fined Trump an additional $1,000 after concluding he had again violated a gag order imposed as part of his trial, and said he would consider sending the Republican firebrand to jail if infractions continue.
