kinda weird how you went through his account and linked a post like that? his reasoning isn't relevant, it's his choice and trying to make his choice seem contradictory for literally no reason is just....weird..

Are you an admin? That whole thing was unnecessary and at worst unprofessional. If dude wants his acc deleted, he doesn't need to be interrogated, especially publicly, on why he wants that. Whether he posts every 5 seconds or not does not matter in the slightest. His reasons are his own and none of our or your business. He wasn't being defensive, he was maintaining his privacy and avoiding the public interrogation that came from a simple question. You chose to try to make his actions look contradictory rather than just doing the task, I'd be a bit salty if I were him, too.

I didn't know that, is the account even actually ever deleted then?

There needs to be a dedicated place to report this stuff, cause posting a thread about it publicly isn't helpful

A case for preemptively defederating with Threads ( kbin.social )

With Meta beginning to test federation, there's a lot of discussion as to whether we should preemptively defederate with Threads. I made a post about the question, and it seems that opinions differ a lot among people on Kbin. There were a lot of arguments for and against regarding ads, privacy, and content quality, but I don't...

agreed with everything said here and the comments make great additional points. i dont want anything to do with threads

imo the ui on kbin is wonderful, and very usable on mobile unlike reddit and other sites, and especially preferable compared to lemmy. i dont imagine there will be another exodus from reddit, it was all performative and hardly anyone stuck around.

Just wanted a warning, Lemmy.World is perhaps worse than reddit at respecting their users ( web.archive.org )

I just suddenly found my user over there banned. Not for getting in a fight or breaking any rules, but just for criticizing and asking questions regarding its recent vague Terms of Service. In fact, no reason, warning, or reply was given beforehand, and the admin who did it suddenly scaled to banned, with no reply or anything...

the good thing about decentralized social media is that, if an admin one one instance is being a dick, you can move to another. imagine if that admin ran every single instance? in the way that reddit has one ruler. thankfully, it's not like that here.
