Its called Polarr, I bought it outright ages ago but have since switched to a subscription model unfortunately iirc

Where to find online communities of people making stuff mainly as a hobby?

Stuff could be anything, digital or physical, but the idea is of discussing and doing it as a hobby without any pressure or push to make it a business or side-gig. Nothing against that, simply that communities/groups with that atmosphere are easy enough to find as-is.

Shameless plug, I post when I have a fresh batch of images ready to go semi frequently.

Lol cathode magic, won't you stay and have a look around? :)

So I take two media sources that will blend to create some cool colors and shapes, I set up my camera in front of the CRT and capture whats on the screen. I then take those images and mirror them.

With the TV already putting off those clean lines between the lights, it gives that neat effect like it's all connected through the mirroring process. I'll see shapes and patterns develop as I go and work the image around them.

Not at all, glad you enjoy them!

Thanks for checking it out, it's a process I came up with. I clean out houses for a job so I'm always coming across old tvs and thought of ways I can use them instead of watching this finite tech waste away and get tossed.

Kind of, this one is earlier in the mirroring process of "Organic Metals". Glad you like it though!

I told someone a couple months ago I would make a video when this hit 100 subscribers and I think it's pretty close so Ill make a post later today showing the process visually.

But in case you miss it, I take that original, mirror it sometimes over 10 times. Each mirror will add or remove shapes and patterns so it all depends on how you work it with each addition or reduction.

No worries, love to answer questions.

I go into it taking the original photo with colors in mind really and then as I'm mirroring I see certain shapes appear and I work the image around them usually.

Thank you! I was out with a friend without my camera and took a white blob photo but wanted to do the beauty of the Moon some justice when I got home.

Channel 5 is the only one I've ever subscribed to
