I heard there was someone in the UK who got cleared of a crime and then was charged an accommodation fee or something because apparently since they were innocent they had no right to be in prison. Last I heard, gov was going to overturn this law

Apparently it was originally thought of people who actually were guilty of doing something wrong getting out on a technicality. They never imagined someone getting out because they were actually innocent

Same logic applies to nuclear energy. More people fall off of hydroelectric power plants or drown or something, or fall off of wind turbines, than get poisoned by radiation from a nuclear power plant

I disagree. The main reason to adblock is to stop data collection and such for targeted advertising. Sponsors aren't targeted and are one of the ethical ways content creators make money. Basically none of the sponsorship goes to YouTube

You're wasting your money as well. With a mortgage, you are paying that money into the house which you can cash out on. Rent just goes into the void. If you paid a mortgage for 10 years and needed to move, you'd have something to show for it. Not for renting.
