Charged particles from the sun collide with gases in the Earth's atmosphere, creating stunning displays of pink, scarlet, and green lights in the sky. Geomagnetic Storms cause this incredible phenomenon. However, these storms can also significantly impact modern infrastructure. If these storms are strong, all of our heavy dependence on GPS and computers can be wiped out in an instant. Fortunately, nothing bad has happened so far. Earth page is tracking it https://www.earth.com/news/noaa-issues-severe-geomagnetic-storm-watch-first-time-since-2005/
@nixCraft Yeah, pass. Privacy is a thing. There are parts of my life I don't even share with the people I love, why in the jolly fuck would I want some asshole company to know it where they will inevitably monetize it?
Was Devin's demo staged? Well, color me surprised! 😅 It is like VCs like scam artists more as they throw millions into any random AI startup. Why do governments allow this kind of fake demos? Even Google got away with a phony demo of their AI. Google is a public trading company, yet no action has been taken against them. https://m.youtube.com/watch?si=xfDb-NhQfUg1zXWb&v=tNmgmwEtoWE&feature=youtu.be
@nixCraft
Man ..... I really like physical media, but this seems to assert that anything was available on physical media and that was not the case. Motherfuckers need to look up "the disney vault" or be old enough to have tried buying anime in about 1994.
The idea programming being unavailable due to streaming/this is a new problem is a fucking myth.
@nixCraft Steve Jobs was just a shockingly shitty human being. Not like "Well, gee, everyone has faults, Wally"
like..... "fuck you, get out" terrible. It still amazed me anyone treats him as a person to be admired.
@arstechnica fuck discord. Charging for a chat is already an asshole move, now they’re just powering into “get out of here with your bullshit” territory.
@arstechnica 30% premium? I was under the impression that spaceX stuff was supposed to be cheaper because all those ..revolutionary things the Muskrats keep harping about.
@nixCraft yeah, I’m a generalists. I can code, but generally don’t, I can administer users, hardware, security, audit, interpret logs, run share point farms… that sort of stuff - to my relatives “I fix computers” and they always call me when their printer doesn’t work.
