Fresh up on CoffeeGeek this morning, a full review of a budget-oriented competitor for the Acaia Lunar; a smart coffee scale that fits on most espresso machine drip trays: the MHW-3Bomber Cube 2.0 Mini Scale. Find out if it's worth the $45!

@coffeegeek @espresso @coffee Looks pretty good! Thanks for the review. The one question I have is whether it shows pouring speed (g/s) for pour over brewing, or just the current weight and timer?

@bhawthorne @espresso @coffee No pouring speed indicator on this scale.

@coffeegeek @espresso @coffee I have this scale and I quite like it.

With regards to the charging situation, my guess is that it doesn’t support USB-PD and you should use a “dumb” power adapter like one of the old 5W Apple cubes. I don’t think using a USB-PD adapter would actually damage the scale but I haven’t been willing to test that yet! It’s unfortunate that that USB-C has two different charging situations.

@coffeegeek I don’t get the manufacturer’s warning of fast charging. AFAIK, fast charging is something that charger and device need to“deal out” over a digital protocol before the actual charging starts. So, if you don’t want fast charging as a device, just say no. (Any experts on this topic here?)

@ujay68 yeah, I'm a bit stymied by this as well. Seems like a potential corner cut.
